Memorial Day In Alexandria

It's a joy to paint en plein air in urban settings once again after the Pandemic. I met with a group of painters in Alexandria, VA on Memorial Day Weekend and the town was buzzing with activity. I especially enjoyed replicating the soft light coming through the buildings. It was most important to create a good design and subsequent drawing. Once that's accomplished, my painting process goes quickly.
