This painting was done on the shores of Bristol Falls located in Bristol VT. This location has cascading slides and waterfalls that make for a great location for swimming and cliff jumping. This has been a favorite place of mine to go painting over the years. The curved panel was inspired by the weaving of the waterfalls and the meandering nature of the trail that goes along the river. One of my favorite parts of this painting is that the landscape cannot be seen in its entirety from any perspective, and the viewer has to move around the painting to take it all in. There is sand, rocks, and twigs mixed in and embedded into the painting to create texture and scale shifts.
