Gwangjang Market

I visited this market during my first trip back to South Korea in over a decade. Gwangjang Market was definitely a big dose of culture shock for me as a second generation Korean American, from the almost aggressively vocal vendors to the unique social norms to the staple long puffer coats and uniform makeup style of the bustling crowd. The snippets of conversations in Korean, lively market atmosphere and scents of Korean comfort food created a strange combination of familiarity and alienness that followed me for the rest of my trip.
