When I make paintings in the studio I try and recreate a specific feeling or memory I associate with the subject. The landscape as subject matter allows me to focus on the abstract qualities of painting I find most captivating. Through careful layering of oil paint on linen, this painting reflects the color harmony and light in an environment I am grateful to call home.
