I was inspired by my sadness regarding the overturning of Roe Vs Wade. In my grief after it happened, I went outside to put my feet in the grass and ground myself. I picked some flowers hoping to paint them. As I arranged them I realized that I had picked the rainbow. I felt moved to add a pride flag to the arrangement, and realized I wanted to use my painting to turn my grief into joy. My painting reflects the joy of being who you are and showing your true colors. It represents resilience in the face of adversity.
