Painted from a smaller plein air painted in Hilton Head, SC. I paint a lot on Pinkney Island, a wildlife preserve just off Hilton Head. Lots of egrets, herons, etc. are in the area. I love painting plein air, but I also love painting big, and this one is 48"x60". The title is borrowed from a Whistler painting. It just popped into my head, as I was using more grey than usual.
