Cambridge Market

This oil painting was done during a two-day sitting in Cambridge Market, while visiting a friend in the U.K. I love the old architecture St. Mary's Church juxtaposing against the fun colorful shapes of the market and market goers, providing a stark contrast of texture and color but also time. I always am very mindful of getting the drawing as accurate and believable as possible, there is no allowances once I start with the rapid oil painting to apply the color to go back and correct any draftsmanship later on, I always say a a painting is only as good as the underlaying drawing.
